We had spent hours hiking trails and snapping some amazing photos around Watson Lake in Prescott, Arizona. To be honest, we were just on the cusp of hiking fatigue for the day and on our merry way back to the car when I saw this scene in my peripheral vision. It only took a second for me to say we just had to stop and sit for spell. So ~ we did. My husband took out his iPhone and snapped some images and spent some time just taking in the moment. I had a blast playing around with various perspectives, but this is the one that really excited me the most ~ the appearance of a tranquil canyon with smooth rock formations surrounding a narrow waterway. I like how the trees add a little pop of green into the scene and how the various layers of the rocks show age and wisdom. I could not help but think of the phrase "like sand through an hourglass." It gave me pause to think of how short of a time we have on this beautiful planet. Life slips by ever so quickly....it really is important to capture these moments in mind, heart, and in a photograph.
