A resting duck folds its head into layered brown feathers against a dark background. The tucked pose invites a closer look at the shelter and pattern within its plumage. Mottled tan, cream, and deep brown markings overlap in scalloped bands, with a few pale feather edges catching the light. You can follow those small curves outward from the hidden head, discovering how the colors repeat and shift across the rounded body. The contrast with the nearly black surroundings keeps attention on the bird's intricate surface, while fine branches barely emerge behind it. Rather than a dramatic stretch of wings or a busy moment, this image offers the pleasure of lingering over a bird at rest. Its compact pose feels self-contained, and the layered feathers make even a still moment rich with detail to explore.
