A towering tree trunk rises toward its spreading canopy in a black-and-white woodland view. Looking up along its deeply furrowed bark gives you a sense of scale that is hard to find in an ordinary walk among trees. The trunk draws your eye upward from the dark opening near its base, through the long ridges and into a canopy where branches overlap against pale sky. In monochrome, light catches raised bark while the hollow stays almost black, making the tree's strong forms stand out. You can linger over the dramatic contrast, following the trunk's lines until they loosen into finer branching shapes overhead. That upward path makes the tree feel immense yet welcoming, and a pause beneath its canopy could reset your sense of scale.
