Jagged desert peaks rise above cacti and scrub beneath a cloud-streaked sky. The broken skyline gives your eye a rewarding path to follow, from the tall central faces to the lower ridges at either side. Dark seams and pale, weathered surfaces create a striking mix of texture, while muted rose and rust tones bring warmth to the massive formations. In front, scattered desert plants soften the stone and give the view a sense of depth. A lone saguaro at the left adds a slender counterpoint to the broad cliffs, and smaller branching cacti fill the foreground. You can linger over the mountain's intricate folds, then let your gaze drift through the open blue and softly colored clouds above. The contrast between rugged rock and delicate sky makes this expansive desert scene especially satisfying to revisit.
