Wildlife

Connecting with our furry, fluffy, and funny little friends out in their own habitat has to be one of the most rewarding opportunities for me as a photographer. To capture that image of them locking eyes with me, or even watching them play around in their own environment ~ these are moments that bring my soul joy.

Two orange monarch butterflies rest among green foliage and pale-purple flower clusters. The bright wings make a lovely invitation to pause and enjoy this brief encounter outdoors. One butterfly is sharply defined, its black veins and white-spotted borders crisp against the orange panels, while a second rests lower among the leaves in softer focus. Fine, feathery blossoms rise above the upper butterfly, their pale color offering a delicate counterpoint to its vivid wings. Looking between the pair, you can enjoy both the clear detail of the nearer monarch and the quieter suggestion of another nearby. The dense greenery gives the scene a sheltered, layered feel without competing with those striking wings. It is a gentle reminder of the pleasure in noticing color and life tucked among ordinary leaves, where a brief pause may reveal another visitor.
