Wildlife

Connecting with our furry, fluffy, and funny little friends out in their own habitat has to be one of the most rewarding opportunities for me as a photographer.  To capture that image of them locking eyes with me, or even watching them play around in their own environment ~ these are moments that bring my soul joy.

Wildlife Collection.

This "mane" subject decided that he was tired of grazing and had no desire to just stand around like the rest of his 20 or so "neigh"borly friends. So, he found himself a cozy little spot near the Salt River and plopped himself down for a spell. This particular image was captured when he heard me nearly trip over a rock and raised his head to see what was happening. Fortunately, I was okay, I grabbed the shot, and he felt safe enough to lay his head back down for the rest of his nap. The Salt River area of the Tonto National Forest just east of Phoenix, Arizona, is one of my favorite places to visit. Here, there are over 200 wild horses that roam freely around the land and call it home.
